Yorktown Tours

Yorktown, the battlefield where we won our freedomVisitors The World Turned Upside Down“Liberty Is Won”Feel the excitement of the battlefield. Hear the cannons roar, the muskets report in your imagination as you visit the site of the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. It was at Yorktown Virginia where British General Cornwallis surrendered his army to General George Washington and the allied French forces.Georg Washington and his commanders at Headquarters
Visitors certainly can visit Historic Yorktown National Park Visitor Center and battlefield on their own, take the excellent National Park ranger led tours and visit the house where the surrender was negotiated and the field where it was finalized.
But if your time is short and you wish the history of the battle summerized into a visit of just a few hours, I may be of assistance. I offer a private guided tour to families and groups that wish to obtain a quick concentrated overview to this important battle. Guests will see the canon balls in the home of the Virginia Governor who suggested that his own house be shelled to rout the British possibly occupying it. If a visit to the museum is in the itinerary, you will see “the” cannon made famous by General Marquis de Lafayette. You will hear the most patriotic words of one who loved America, who loved George Washington and who in turn George Washington called “his son”. This man, General Marquis de Lafayette named his son George Washington.
